The audio on my iPhone has broken, and as a consequence, I have been without my phone all week.
These tech inconveniences so easily thwart plans, and alter our days.
My past weekend was spent setting my intentions for March goals – in health, work, relationships . . . . the wide spectrum of life.
Because:
Intentions + actions = manifesting all the things we crave, manifesting all the feels we need.
iPhone-less, nearly every to-do felt crippled in some way, having lost the tools I use to do them.
My morning alarm telling me it’s time to wake up. Yoga-ing or meditating using apps. Messaging all the people and scrolling all the posts.
Turns out, these days seem to have been sent as a reminder that I can still accomplish most of the things I had intended without being tethered to my phone.
Alarms were not needed, as Tino, the kitty who forced her way into my life, decides that 5am is the perfect time of day to speed race through my room, claw up my bed, and scamper and mew loudly across my sleeping body, demanding breakfast.
(Anybody else have cats who do this? WHY. Why do cats think this is okay?)
The lesson: Stick with our intentions.
Even if the way we envision mutates in some way, our intentions will help us navigate towards our goal, no matter what unexpected barriers we are met with.
Stripped of my tech, I improvised: Silent meditation. Beach walk, instead of yoga. Cat-Alarm.
Honor your intentions.
Next month, I’m kicking off my Group Life Coaching Program. The very first workshop emphasizes the importance of intentions, and helps you understand how to personally set them for yourself, empowering you with strategies to follow through.
Your mood will dip. Plans will divert. Your iPhones will break, taking down with them each tool you carefully chose to help you lean into your intentions and create something amazing in your life or become more amazing yourself.
Finding connection. Growth. Honing a new skill. Integrating healthy habits. Successfully progressing another mile on your journey.
With every unexpected pivot in your day, remember the ultimate goal you are seeking, and honor those intentions.
