Twice a month, I meet with a fabulous group of females, mostly based in the Bay area, to check in with ourselves and check in on each other.
Reviewing our recent victories, our current challenges, our hiccups, our wins helps us to recalibrate, soundboard, and set our next intentions.
We do this because we want to be sure we are doing life right.
This past weekend, the question that prevailed was:
How do I set my intentions if I am not sure I know what I need?
Within the conversation that ensued, I suggested adding the word “today” to the end of that question.
What do you need TODAY?
This is a neat little trick. It keeps it simple. Keeps it attainable. Keeps it immediate.
Feels like this tool landed with them, but it’s also advice I need to remind myself to take, pretty much every day.
What do we need today? What will bring us peace? What will give us joy?
Perhaps it’s space. Maybe we need attention.
At times, it could be we need uninterrupted focus for a stretch of time to complete a project and to feel all the successful feels we are striving for.
Perhaps there are words we need to hear. Or words we need to say.
Maybe all we need is a pause in our day and a hug.
What do you need TODAY?
Answer that, and every day you will hit the mark.
Every single day, give yourself what you need. This fine-tunes you, bit by bit, into the best moving version of yourself. You feel good. Your outward energy is positive. Your relationships harmonize.
Each day that you zero in on giving yourself what you need results with a good day.
And good days stack up. One morning you will wake up to these stacks of good days, and realize what a good life you have created.
What do you need today?
